Doesn’t solve the problem though. The police can’t offer them full time protection and there’s no suggestion that the loan shark will be prosecuted for charging illegal rates of interest or that the debt will be written off.

These “loan sharks” are abhorrent and should be weeded out of society.  But I despise these dead/beat borrowers even more.  They got into this situation with eyes wide open,   knowing full well the consequences of their actions.  They will eventually pay for their transgressions.
