My opinion is a judge sentenced the  person to a certain length of imprisonment and now  Dept of Correction officers who have no real incite in the case decide that the person should  be placed out on parole after serving a part of his sentence.

In my opinion this is contempt of court as the parole board do not know the full facts neither have they usually spoken to the victims and they then decide the judge's sentence is inappropriate

The judge already knows the criteria for parole eligibility and accounts for that when determining a sentence. Thaksin‘s case is different because his 8 years was slashed to 1 year by decree. Without the pardon he would have served 32 months minimum (1/3) before being eligible for parole.
