Driving and riding during vacation are not covered unless it is added to the policy with additional premium. Further need to confirm if he is having the necessary documents for riding in Thailand and also how about the ridig safety gears?

While the  insurance companies get bad press over their for their refusal to pay out, the policies I have seen have all been fairly clear on what is and is not covered and the conditions that apply when it comes to motorcycles - usually a valid motorcycle licence is needed and there is a capacity restriction, usually 125cc. The policy I have at the moment will cover larger capacity bikes, but the conditions are that I must have a full licence for that class of motorcycle (a two part process in the UK for a full unrestricted licence, with mandatory training and written tests) and be a regular rider.

I had an accident on my MB in Samui

I think the hospital bill was 15k

I submitted it to my insurance

Just stated I had a bicycle accident

They paid it out with no questions asked

Once again a stupid foreigner rides a motorcycle he is not insured for (and in all likelyhood does not have a licence for) and blames the insurance for not paying out.
