Sadly, Trip Adviser has zero credibility.  It's hotel ratings are  long considered unreliable.  Low quality hotels rated as 4* are one example. Questionable reviews are another.

The rating concerns drunken rampages. Phuket ranks 7th in the world for drunken  rampages, a fall from its perennial number one position.

12 years now living in Pattaya and I'd rank it number one destination this City is awesome 24/7 never a dull moment.

And as for Soi 6 definitely The Worlds number one Street for things to see and do.

I think it's fairly simple to figure out real reviews from fake or just people that will complain about anything

I mostly use TA and Google reviews for the real traveler's photos that give me a good idea of what a place really looks like

I think it's one of the worst places I've ever been

But I mean this 100%

Doesn't matter what anyone else thinks

As long as you are happy to live there and you seem to be....

Bangkok is one of my favorites cities on the world and many don't like it

For restaurants I use ViaMichelin.

I take most review sites, and reviews on the likes of Amazon, with a large pinch of salt. As far as Pattaya goes - it probably does have enough to offer the 7 day inclusive package tourist, but a rating that puts it in the worlds top ten?

For restaurant I find so many from Tik Tok

I don't searching for them but they come up and if it looks interesting I do some research

Or I google "Best restaurants in...."

And some of the big restaurant blogs like The Eater or Time Out provide good lists to then research

I look at the reviews for the most popular restaurants so that I can give them a wide berth. Any who thinks standing in line in the blazing sun, waiting for a table to be served a bowl of Khao soi, adds to the restaurant experience, has rocks in their head.

I am absolutely someone who will not wait in line for anything

But I've been to plenty of places that were rated or touted online where there is no line

Khao Soi

Went to probably the most famous one in Chiang Mai

Zero wait although was getting busy when I left

TA says that one does get used to the raw sewage and vomit odours after a couple days or so.

TA is rubbish,it's posts are always years out of date. Its piss and grass that are the joint number 1s nowadays.
