Don't the locals know that foreigners are untouchables in places like Phuket and Pattaya? May be it is time they realize it and try to accept and live with it without grumbling and complaining. They have to understand that at the most the foreigner will apologise and walk away squat free or just a tap in his wrist with 500 baht fine. Case closed.

I don't blame the guy. Outside  Jungceylon in Phuket where the motorcycles park there is a cosy little number going on between the motorcycle taxi guys and the local Plod. Taxi guy calls Plod if they see a motorcycle parked even 1 mm into the no-parking zone. Plod comes along and chains the bike. The bike's owner on returning doesn't know what to do. Like clockwork, a motorcycle taxi guy appears. " You need go Police station and pay fine I take you there and back.. 100 baht". I know all this because it happened to me. I did some investigating, and my suspicions were proven correct. Just another day in bent paradise.

I had to laugh at the comments regarding foreigners getting preferred treatment by the “bent” RTP .  Falange are the primary scam targets for the men in brown. Beware the foreigner riding a motorbike without helmet or wearing flip flops, despite a dozen Thais similarly attire in the same area.  Who gets stopped ?
