If it was lucky number, then why did he is revealing it. He could quietly buy that number and no need to work any more. Money will start pouring like monsoon rain.

It is simple, there are a lot of dim people around who will believe anything, he will make money by people reading his blog, which means he will get advertising revenue and make money that way as he knows he has no secret powers.

We have a Thai friend here

 

His family is pretty well off in Thailand 

 

They own a wholesale business selling fish to places that sell them to people to release to make merit

So they breed fish and sell them to be released, but fish usually live in schools of fish for protection so they probably won't last long by themselves. 

It is a bit like the pet business in general, dogs are bred by humans, humans buy them, then some are discarded and then a group of humans rescue them, it is a stupid cycle.

When a fish has been released the Thais celebrate by having a nice meal which includes fish I bet. 😃

I suppose you are right, the Thais who are stupid enough to believe in the merit malarkey and selfish enough to want to buy merit for themselves probably do not care as you said.
