Asian Cup 2024 - Thailand, Australia, Japan etc

The Asian Cup is now underway with Thailand taking part. Is anyone watching?

Qatar are the defending champions and hosts, and there are 24 teams taking part. Some standouts and a fair bit of dross.

Thailand are in Group F with Saudi Arabia, Kyrgyzstan and Oman. Would like to see them go through. They're up on Tuesday vs Kyrgyzstan. Probably a must win game, looking at the other teams

Australia are in Group B with Syria, Uzbekistan and India. I watched Australia vs India last night. Probably FA Cup League One vs Conference standard. What has happened to the Aussies???? Kewell, Cahill, Viduka, Neill used to light up the Premier League, current crop not so much. 

Japan are the standout team in the tournament, mid-table Premier League standard I would say. They're on tonight vs Vietnam.

And then Iran, Saudi Arabia, UAE, Qatar and South Korea. Will be interesting to see how the Saudis have progressed playing with all the stars in their domestic league.
