"Officials working hard"... um, they're all looking at the phones or eating every time I pass one. It's got to be boring and I don't blame them, but how about a reality check, please. 

I don't really understand how these checkpoints prevent accidents either. It would be better, for example, to put some cops at the Koh Kaew light and ticket everyone who is driving down the road on the wrong side. As a bonus, most aren't wearing helmets, many are missing mirrors (I guess that's cool now), quite a few run the lights, and some are talking on phones.
