So what’s the moral of the story?

1. Phuket Cops aren’t just regular cops, they’re Super Cops

or

2. Muslims are thieves

I’ll take none of the above, thanks.

Muslims are thieves  but so are Buddhist, Hindu, Christian etc. I work with Muslims and it's laws are whipping and for Muslims. LGBTQ is a crime up to 20 years in jail. Apostasy for a Muslim is forfeiture of property, jail for 3 years etc. The state law is death but federal is jail. If police do a good job then it is great to see it highlighted. Most of the time the news is negative to the Thai police.

According to the Penal Code Section 379 (not Thailand), theft may be punished “with imprisonment for a term which may extend to seven years or with fine or with both, and for a second or subsequent offence shall be punished with imprisonment and shall also be liable to fine or to whipping.”

Not a big deal to locate stolen cell phones in this day and age. Surprise they made such a big deal. But with all the BAD publicity the RTP get lately, any small victory must be celebrated.  BUT what the heck is the punishment for the thief.    20 baht fine and a talking to ?
