It’s true that France has become a very unsafe destination for tourists. The criminal elements thrive, and the excessive migration of unskilled North Africans combine to create an environment requiring excessive diligence to personal belongings and safety.  But the naivety of this Thai traveler is astounding. Credit card information should be readily available for cancellation at all times. And, NEVER leave expensive personal items in parked cars. It’s an invitation for break-ins.
