What about disciplining the flight attendant(s) involved? "There is no CCTV footage, so there. Try to get compensation from the guy seated next to you. If it wasn't for him, I wouldn't have spilled the hot coffee on you." I'm sure Thai Airways is aware, flight attendants: a dime a dozen in certain/most parts of Asia.

Make it mandatory to install CCTVs from all angles in all Thai airways.

Luckily it was a man...just imaging the damage and painfull feeling it could have cost if the affected party was a young female with gorgeous appearance? There goes all her future into drain.

This guy was really unlucky, I have had many a coffee on Thai Airways and thus far have never managed to get one anywhere near hot enough to burn.

First Aid 101 - that is exactly what most people would have done, including trained medical staff.
