Thai PM predicts current Covid crisis will be over in 2 or 3 weeks – 4 at the most

It's 3 weeks now! One more week and the crisis is over.

Good thing they didn't order more vaccines because they would be wasted now.

They'll open the country and and the streets will be full with a higher number of tourists than ever before. And all the closed shops will miraculously reopen.

The key to full recovery of tourism in Thailand is the LEGALIZATION of marijuana, or cannabis as it’s officially called,   as quickly as possible.    It’s a Win….WIN situation for all, including the government since it’’s guaranteed to significantly reduce student unrest in all parts of the country. The whole country would be MELLOW.     All happy  that is,     except for drug dealers,   cartels smuggling illicit drugs into Thailand,   cops on the take for turning a blind eye,     politicians taking a cut from the drug trade, the beer and hard liquor manufacturers, bars and clubs selling them,   ………ohhhh but wait,  that’s a good chunk of the population right there.   But then tourism would recover with a BOOM,   the number of expats applying for extended visas would triple,    taxes on this legal stuff would fill government coffers, and farming would once again become lucrative.  Bet the general  is thinking the same thing.

So it is now approximately 2 months later after this ridiculous statement...11975 new infections and 127 deaths today with less tests now being carried out  and 1million does of physzer from US being held up with more irrelevant paper work. The people deserve a lot better leadership than this..

1400+ die every day so 100-200 (most elderly) more is not a national crisis. The restrictions just make life much harder to a lot of Thais, especially in the service industries.

Could be that they believe the PM prediction may come true, and THEY will lose all credibility and face. Still got Three weeks left before he is proven 100% wrong!
