Earlier today, the Thaiger wrote about 2 girls whose mother passed away. However, before the mother died, she expressed a desire to her daughters that they go to an orphanage so someone could still take care of them Recently, it was found that the 2 girls will be taken to an orphanage and that the mother’s name is Apaporn Soontrarachun. This is so funked up. All I see around me are people partying and having a great time, and their biggest concern is where to go next after closing hours. Hisos arrived in Samui in thousands and as you can guess they don't give a sheet about anything. Honestly. I feel like we're on a different continent. This story just makes me angrier than I usually feel. I hope the best for these two little soul. :(

Different continent you say? Well, it does  remind me of the situation in the UK where thousands of idiots do similar, or many states in the USA where selfishness rules. And then we have the mass idiots of France protesting. Honestly, I wish it was these idiots who suffered from Covid and not those who try to do the right thing.

Im an idiot according to you HuaHinHappy totally selfish post. We would never put our children in an orphanage even in Death. Instead of posting this rubbish about Brits and Europeans why don't you E-mail the Thai Embassy and ask why there bosses allowed this to happen to these two poor girls now left without there Mum. If a member or Boss from the Thaiger can set up a fund for these girls i will be the first to transfer cash into an account for them.

Good for you that you would not put your children in an orphanage. However, circumstances change and "even in death" you won't be around to see otherwise unless you have a proper will and designated guardians. Don't be so quick to judge the dead woman  for the  girls going to an orphanage.  She was poor and most likely had no other options.

Yes, people who flout the social distancing rules and who refuse to wear masks are idiots.  The small pushy minority who do this are not specific to Thailand, but are found everywhere. Yes, it is inconsiderate and selfish.

It is easy to blame "Thai bosses" for the situation. That makes it nice and simple. Blame someone and escape social responsibility. Poverty and the fate of Thailand's poor won't be solved by  "blaming". It's about  living wages, affordable housing and access to opportunity. This is a responsibility all of society shares. It's so nice that you care. All of a sudden you are moved that there are 2 orphaned girls. There are tens of thousands of orphaned and disadvantaged children in Thailand. Why wait for this opportunity to signal your virtue. There is an orphanage or special needs care home in most every region. Donate or volunteer there.

I did not see him for one second blaming the dead lady, just regretting her situation. 

Bad enough to think you are dying, but to know you will be leaving your two daughters, 7 and 9, to go into an orphanage - I just don't have the words for that. Rest easy lady you must be in many people's thoughts.

First of all this is a sad case of news. For these kids there is at-least a form of child care (because Thai).

What about all the Burmese kids whom are 'rotten' away in camps without mom (died!) or dad (deported?) or viceversa. In a local case I've been told that they where put on a list many many months ago but... they are still there.

No birth certificate, no parents, no real education. An even sadder case.
The only thing one can do is provide kids with food & water as they for a mysterious reason still have a roof in the worker camps (without mom nor dad) find as much about them as one can and hope the Burmese authorities whom are busy enough these days would be able to help out. Poor kids.

A generous offer, @Rothie, but I'd suggest that that's hardly the Thaiger's role and that if you want to adopt them the contact details for the orphanage are readily available.

The current suicide rate is beyond anything we could have ever imagined. I have a friend who has a close friend who is an EMT in Bangkok. She said they are often called out to a home, and there is anywhere from one to six people who have committed suicide. She told us recently they were called out, and the mother, father, three children, and the grandmother were found dead, from drinking poison. They left a note. There is 200 baht in the drawer. That is all we have. We cannot take care of the children any longer. There is no hope left. We cannot work, as they will not let us, and we cannot afford to eat. She said her group of nurses and EMT's just sat down on the floor and weeped for a very long time. 

The youth started a Facebook page on how to leave Thailand, and make a life for yourself in another country. A million members now.

Where is the hope? Where is the promise of a better future? With a country that is being so badly mismanaged, and an economy that is being destroyed and sabotaged before our eyes, one can easily become despondent. How will things change, if the youth is not even allowed to show dissent? How to get rid of the dinosaurs once and for all. And unlike in the past, there is absolutely no moral leadership of any kind here anymore. 

Very sad. For those of us lucky enough to have a steady income, it is sad, but we live good lives. My heart really goes out to most of the Thai people. Their lives are being crushed. Woe is Thailand. 

The people are going to have to "dispose of" these sabateur clowns, before their nation drops to 125th in the world in GDP, down towards Burundi, South Sudan, Somalia, Niger and Afghanistan. 

The pride of SE Asia? Once, maybe. Before they made the historic and monumental mistake of letting the Thai army destruction crew take over. There is a price to be paid for many decisions made in this life. Letting these junkyard dogs in, and allowing them to stay, is coming at a very high cost for this nation.

Well, I am not sure about that. The people want the truth. The administration is doing everything in their power to suppress it. I forgot to mention, the police who were at the scene warned the EMT's, who needed to take photos to document the scene, that if any of the photos were shared, or posted online, they would be looking at a 15 year prison sentence for "sedition".

I think it is safe to say this toxic bunch of power hungry creeps have re-written the definition of sedition. Forget grief counseling Darlings! As several posters have said here, this situation is replicated tens of thousands of times across this globe. Whatever the reasons, be it war, greed, poverty, wealth or power, these are just the poor victims of 'circumstance!' Cruelty in the animal world is just the same!

In a nutshell, yes, the world is all totally F@#$%D up. Humans are a fragile animal. It has taken us over 10,000 years to shape the planet in to what we see today. Remove every single one of us and "nature" would restore the lot in a little over 300 years!!! We really are not that powerful... it's only "us" that are under delusions of grandeur that we are SOOooooooo f@#$%^g great! Oddly enough, the animals which would survive the best are dogs ... not the apes as everyone and science fiction believes! 

As for the 2 girls, well, I'm sure after all this media exposure, they will "do ok". I do think it's time though for Chanocha to reflect and relinquish his control over Thailand. Whatever he is doing (not much by the looks of it!) OBVIOUSLY isn't working at all. Numbers of infections will be 20,000+ this time next week then 2 x week's later 40,000 and so on! That's the proven model of infection rate!

The Thai HEALTH SYSTEM has already imploded and next to being useless! Not even worth a discussion point!!!

The procurement of  Covid 19 "inoculations" (they're NOT vaccines!!!!!)... again, not even worth wasting the world's valuable oxygen supply discussing... only to note: TOTAL & ABYSMAL FAILURE!!! 

The ECONOMY is like a Boeing 737 Max with a defective auto-pilot; out of control and heading for the ground at 600 knots with predictions of 60-70 Baht to the British pound by Xmas! I read the Thai government has BORROWED 5 "TRILLION" Baht already! How the F@#k are they expecting to repay that amount!?  

The EDUCATION of millions of students is now in total free-fall, with online teaching about as effective as a chocolate fireguard; Thai teachers of course, would refuse to admit that... not withstanding the fact that so many Thai teachers are also about as effective as...well, another chocolate fireguard!!!

And, as for INDUSTRY & TOURISM.. pahhhhhh! If "you" were the CEO of a multi-national company wanting to expand, would you seriously consider Thailand!!? I think not...NOT ANY MORE! Too much uncertainty, too much doubt, too much corruption and zero transparency! NOT the climate or basis upon which to establish a new or existing business... and, especially in a country that's heading for a catastrophic recession any month soon! In fact, I forsee the day when huge companies like Pandora, Le Creuset, Hoya Optics etc. pull out of Thailand. Ever so easy to do and relocate elsewhere in SE Asia. Chevrolet did it last year!

They do not care. I am certain the army knows their regime is short lived, at this point, and it is likely most of that money was stolen, and socked away in overseas accounts, where the creeps will escape to, once they are ousted. Hopefully, we can get to them before they leave, and make them pay a very heavy price for their crimes. Even the Hague would not be good enough for these gang lords.
