Thailand needs to not only liberalize its visa entry program, but also extend its length from 30 to at least 60 days for tourists who travel far distances at greater travel expense.  This not only encourages long stay spending, but also eliminates the pain-in-the-butt visa extensions that waste at least half a day in Bangkok.
