The issue is, this snack is very oily. If you squeeze it with tissues, easily needs few layers of tissue paper to get rid of nearly 70% of the oil it is carrying as it has the spongy texture to absorb more oil. Secondly it is taken with sweet jam which we called "Kaya" in Malaysia. It will be tasty if the oil is sqeezed and later dipped in hot  black or white coffee to eat. Since the oily part is messy for consumers, it is loosing its market share. Further it is kind of traditional and family business which runs in generations. The younger generations are not interested in this messy work as the preparation part is a bit messy and delicate.
