TAT continues its wild, over-optimistic predictions of the Chinese tourist surge which was expected to resolve the country’s economic woes wrought by Covid.    Baaaah Humbug !   TAT is delusional to think that China will ever be the economic giant it once was,  given the current adverse relationship between the CCP and the West  (Europe and the Americas). Although Thailand will always be a preferred tourist destination for the Chinese because of its proximity and affordability, the current economic instability in the country has wrought major setbacks affecting individual and family vacationing.  And ….. if Thailand wishes to improve itself as a tourist destination for westerners, it must start with its chaotic VISA system. Continuous short term changes ain’t gonna work. The high cost of transportation for Europe and the Americas make longer stays more feasible. Minimum stays for visas should be 60 days for all, but particularly for those traveling these distances.

And yet they keep on finding ways to add in more $$$. Now they are planning to increase the Airport tax by 30 Baht. Very soon there will be the tourists fee.....and many more to come.

Western countries and its allies have turned against China "thank goodness", Thailand bought into the China model years ago. Pushing out western countries.  There are many articles about this, but Chinas decline is dragging down SE Asia.  I see no way out for Thailand at this point .

This obsession and and economic falsehoods regarding everything tourism has become quite wearisome.

Why not concentrate on things that are more domestic along such economic principle and practice.

Tourism and the associated fantasies just brings this fair country down - in so many ways.
