Sutin stressed that the primary concern in weapon procurement should be the ability to effectively thwart adversaries, not merely acquiring weaponry. He warned of new security threats originating from international conflicts such as the ongoing Russia-Ukraine crisis and the Hamas-Israel war, stating that Thailand must strategise its international positioning to avoid getting embroiled in such conflicts.

Assuming the two examples are to show a more dangerous world and not an actually expectation of either of them landing on Thailand’s lap. Since the only expansionist country in the area is China, and therefore the only actual threat. Why in the heck would Thailand buy weapons from them? If he is truly worried about future threats in SE Asia, why is Thailand cozying up to said threat?

China is the only threat. They should have said combat J-20 and their Silk Rail Road. Anything they buy from the CCP comes complete with inserted spyware as a bonus.
