I legitimacy see whales on almost a weekly to monthly occurrence where I live

That agree with and would be careful what boats I take young kids on.

 

Was on one of the speedboats from Phi Phi to Koh Lanta and this young family had 2 young daughters, probably 10 and 6

Neither with a life jacket on it

 

I wouldn't take my kids on any Speedboat in Thailand 

Let alone not have them wear life jackets
