What is wrong with people loving each other tying knot. Is there any law preventing such marriages? When a 80 year old man who hardly can stand on his own legs marry a 30 year old woman, then the society congratulate with overwhelming wishes. Doesn't it looks wrong? What can the 80 year old man do with a 30 year old woman. He can only see her as a darbie doll. In this case both are healthy and can lead a wonderful personal life together. Just leave them alone. Wish the couples every happines in their life together

What's a woman? There seems to be a great deal of debate on that subject .

Age disparities either way, are not seen as an age difference if its under ten years. Sonething like 90% of marriages, occur within a 10 year gap, and nearly all the rest, within 20 years of age difference. This holds for East Asia as it does for Europe and her former 'white dominions'.

I suppose the reason for the attention is due to the fact it is not normal for there to be such a big age difference when Thais marry, as far as I have seen over the last 30 years most Thai marriages involve two people who are roughly the same age, there are of course the odd exception.

I do not count the number of young Thai women marrying old farangs as the reason for that in Thai society is well known, farangs are seen as being outside of main Thai society anyway and are just seen as long-term visitors as most only have annual visas extensions, very few have permanent residency.

It's all very hypocritical. No bone of contention with old, overweight and worn out farangs marrying young Thai woman. And as far as appearances go in today's society the boundaries are getting more diluted by the day.

I do not know which one is the bride. What's up with the ears with the  entity on the right?

I had to look twice to work out which on was which, as well. But apart from that, I don't see what the big deal is.
