So, let me get this straight... A bunch of murdering terrorists, Hamas, has captured and are holding hostages and will only release them if the injured party. Israel, ceases its payback assault?

Add to this that a relatively hostile country seems to see this as fair play?

Yeah, right. All due sympathy for the hostages, but Hamas has to pay the piper for the well planned and murderous attack on a sovereign country.
