Only 40000 thb compensation to families of murdered Thai in Isreal at the hands of Hamas.  Make it 4,000,000 million thb and you are getting closer.

Although I do have big reservations about the puppet master and fat head people who run this country now and the past ones just out, I must ask you how is that the fault of the Thai Government? It seems to be a lot more than any other time this govement has offered if anything. If you want to point out the respondsibility it would be the underpayment by Israel to the Thai hurt or families of the killed ones.

It is out there that Thailand will pay 40k for funeral but also 35k - 40k per month for wife and an addition 10-12k for each child until 18 years of age or until she marries again.

Israel said for the wives will pay 35k for life or until married and 10-12k per child support until kid is 18yrs old. Now this is a sort of cheap offering but in reality it is better to give Thai a monthly life payment rather than a lump sum that will vanish as quickly as it is received..

Now if they follow through with this and do not rescind it, then these two payments combined are quite good. The injured depending upon what % get a lump sum and medical treatment paid for. I do not think it is enough but for the average Thai is is a lot and they can live comfortable on 75k a month for life.

Now these are initial  spoken numbers so let's see what actually transpires after the dust settles. I think these women are never going to officialy marry again.

There are compensation funds for victims of crime in many countries.

Also, at some point someone will bring a class action against Hamas and its Iranian and Qatari backers.  Appreciably, the claims may never be paid even if a judgement in favour of plaintiffs is obtained, but it does send a message to Iran that it will be legally pursued.

Tehran is considered to be the world’s leading state sponsor of terrorism and has  typically acted through Hezbollah, Hamas, or other terrorist proxies. According to Jennifer Elsea of the Congressional Research Service, U.S. federal courts have, over the last two decades, issued some 92 judgments finding the Iranian government and its officials liable for acts of terrorism that claimed American victims.These judgments amount to US$26 billion in compensatory damages and US$30 billion in punitive damages against Iranian government entities and officials. (Iran has never paid.) the end result is that  iran cannot use western  financial  facilities without risking a loss due to seizure of assets.

Hamas is a terrorist organisation who have their headquarters outside Gaza and only see it as a springboard for attacks against their hated enemy, Israel. What makes you think that they will come to the table and pay for people they have murdered? Far better to take the money from projected foreign aid payments and pay directly to the families from that.

Your suggestion risks punishing innocent people and might be  politically impractical.  I did  note that the end result of the litigation is that Iran , Hamas, Hizbollah cannot use western  financial  facilities without risking the seizure of funds (or other assets).

Agreed … I highly doubt there is any insurance policy which cover’s acts of terrorism and war. 

I’m guessing Thailand sees the remittance payments more than worth any compensation payouts. Cynicism aside of course.

It's confusing the way it is worded

 

I think it's suitable if these were Thais that worked for the Thai government and were sent to work in Israel

 

But if they went to Israel on their own accord I think it's a nice goodwill gesture but not necessary 

 

 

By the way

40k usually wouldn't cover a funeral in Thailand

 

I've been shocked at how expensive they are
