Recommended Posts

In the northern Thai province Phetchabun, Covid testing at a chicken processing plant continues as positive test results keep coming in. Yesterday, it was reported that 3,117 people have already tested positive. The plant is owned by Golden Line Business Co, a subsidiary of Saha Farms Group. By 8 pm yesterday, 6,587 out of the factory’s 7,200 workers had been tested, says district chief Sompong Thongnoonui. The 613 employees that have yet to be tested will be tested today, adds the chief. When officials tested 3,000 workers at the chicken processing plant on Friday they found 1/3 of them had […]

Well I have no doubt that shortly we will hear that the Saha group will threaten legal action against people who highlights the number of covid cases in their factories. Just like CP group did. These disgusting examples of private enterprise will no doubt be illustrated very soon when they give certain people birthday presents. Of course bribes to maintain their pseudo monopolistic empires but last year it was a 100 million each. Wonder how much a birthday present has been "suggested" this year ? Even at last years prices 10 families would have been 1 billion total, now would not that amount have been better given to the poor and destitute rather than those that have raped this country for a long time ?

Why are they not closing these factories? Are the owners above the law? Too rich to touch? Come on. Multiple pineapple factories remain open. Construction sites. Too many clusters to mention, yet nothing. One wonders how serious these guys are about bringing down the curve. One wonders about alot.

Come on, all wealthy families in this country are above the law, getting away with murder is an entrenched known example. So this issue of infecting other workers in their hundreds with life threatening covid is a negligible issue for them.

I think there is alot of truth in that. There is a pathological nature that many super rich people have. The lack of regard they have for the common man is profound. Even many middle class families here have such toxic levels of arrogance and disregard for the "farmers, laborers, and other commoners" here. In other words, the vast majority, who make up the good people of Thailand, and the hard working Burmese, and Cambodian migrant laborers. I hate to even use the word hi-so, as it is such an inane term, but the super rich are even worse, no doubt. Few even know the meaning of the word charity.

Growing up in the US we did not have that kind of class based arrogance. We did not consider ourselves to be better than people with less money. Those kinds of attitudes are steeped in such a high degree of ignorance.
