The obvious 'partner for this would be the PRC's Belt and Road Initiative, however, I am hoping that with the demise of Chan O-Cha on the political scene, that love affair might just be on the back burner. There is more than enough communist Chinese influence in the Kingdom without giving more of the country over to them.

That road from Chumpon to Ranong is now 4 lanes all the way through the mountains. It took them many years to get that far and it's still very windy and steep in places. 

To make it straighter, wider, and less steep will be a massive undertaking. And all through pristine rainforest. 

What could possibly go wrong?!
