That's correct Ram I  believe its to cover the cost of repatriation of the body to The UK.

I get that no parent wants to believe that their child committed suicide but it seems to me this mother is making baseless accusations as there does not seem to be any evidence that this might not have been a suicide.  Suicide is sadly one of the leading causes of death for men of her sons age in the UK.

Not for the man, he has nothing from the money!

And the 10k seem to be enough, already!

A friend of mine had to bring his brother home, from the Philippines.

That was about 7k Euro.

But as long people feel the need to give, others feel the task, to help them to do that!

That is almost always a problem with people ob long trips:

"...in Thailand for a number of months before making his way to the Thai capital."

Which is leaving me with another question, about " ... he had a good graduate job"

Or better, this "had", did he loose the job, before he left?

I mean, no suicide reason might be the question to solve this

"there does not seem to be any evidence that this might not have been a suicide"? And you base your comment on which evidence exactly?  Apart from the "wrong dates", this article, and the couple of others published in the UK, provide 0 evidence either way. So you could also say then "there does not seem to be any evidence that this might have been a suicide". I personally would find this suspicious (to say the least) if "wrong dates" would be provided to me about my son alleged strange suicide in a BKK car park (in a car park???). This is the only "base" given in those published articles. If that's all there is indeed, that's good enough for me.

So her son commited suicide in a BKK car park and as only evidence of this are emails (in Thai) and phone calls saying so with "wrong dates" by authorities in a country very well known for being masters of corruption and she should just simply believe that it is the case, not trying to find out more by having a full investigtion by British authorities and move on. That is what any good decent mother anywhere around the World would do...

There is a big difference between accusing other people of being liars and wanting to get more information.

There are many reasons to commit suicide and almost none of them makes sense - especially when it‘s about young people..

Some of the main reasons for young people committing suicide are depressions, drug abuse and lovesickness. Usually parents are not aware of that, especially if their child is thousands of miles away.
