Bit of a misleading headline describing him as a 'monk on the run' when the story makes it quite clear that he is not a monk at all just another con man pretending to be one.

Scamming people who often can't afford too much. Straight deception which should result in straight to prison hopefully.

Also convincing every Thai family that Monks need to come to all sort of milestone events and get all sorts of donations is a scam in itself

It just adds such a cost to funerals and things like that.....

Evil man.

They all are, that and hypocrites,  plus parasites on society.  This is just one more example of a universal truth

I think, the bad  news here is the sentence with the "he is not a monk but (just) a beggar" and the way, he is attaching the animals to the cart.

All of the named animals, in special the husky, have hundreds of years of history of pulling carts and sleds

In other countries.

And in reality, b/c he is not a monk, he is a cheater, con man.

But animal abuser? Really?

Is horse riding forbidden, dolphins held in pools, monkeys running around in cities?

Yes, really. Animals wear harnesses, they don’t have the load tied around their necks.

All true, the human species has been cruel and abusive to animals,  all other humans and indeed to the planet,  for Millenia.  We are truly the most despicable of species.  But Nature will get us back.  Covid 19 is just a foretaste of what is to come.  And guess what; while we all die in our billions, the animals will survive.

Bird flu, foot and mouth rabies etc would tend to indicate the animals are not getting a free pass

True, but some of them will survive, we won't and frankly, we don't deserve to survive.  We've had our chance and royally fxxxed it up.
