So once again the Royal Thai Police have stood by and no doubt profited from child prostitution and trafficking and all that happens is they get transferred. "As a consequence of this discovery, five officers from Meuang Phayao Police Station have been transferred"... What has to happen to see governmental officials - including RTP officers - suspended without pay while their alleged offences are investigated and charges brought against them?

Is corruption so rife that everyone in uniform is bulletproof?

The youngest of the two girls was 14. Unless there really was coercion, then they knew what they were doing, and couldn't be 'rescued'. That the girls shared their income with the owners of the premises, in exchange for working there, implies economic autonomy, surely. In coercive settings like trafficking, they give it all to older people, and are pain in such services like food and lodgings, barely cash if any.
