I have been to that temple a few times. It is ok but not a OMG wow. Can actually see the Gold Stupa shine by air at the nice right best time of the day near sunsetting if sit on the right side of the airplane at the window. Now is he really retiring or is he going to another place?

I don't find many temples in Thailand as OMG

I've never really found them all that great from the start

 

The ones I do like are ones that have nice murals on their walls

I like to go on birthdays with my family. Get blessings and our fish in the water and then shake the Chinese based good luck or bad luck sticks. Been to a lot and some r ok. I like the old old ones. History ones.
