Sad story.

Reported to the authorities by a temple boy. Is that snitching?

The photographed turtle is a Malayemys, a shell crusher. This species is not endangered, and is often called a rice paddy turtle. The species, as a pet, cohabits well with fishes because of its diet. I'm unsure the identity of the frog species, it looks African. Frogs with large maws are macropredatory, and will try to eat anything they can swallow.
