Basically that route after sunset is very dangerous. I had once travelled from Sukohthai to Suratthani and happens to pass by that area around 8.00pm. Most of the road is in pitch dark. Only street lights are available in the urban areas. Almost all the vehicles are speeding about 120km with full load and most are heavily loaded. I can confirm the speed as I was rushing to reach Suratthani before it too late and my riding speed was between 100 - 110km. All these vehicles are easily overtaking me with some in a dangerous way. Hence I am not surprised to see such accidents at the wee hours in that route.
