Well bring it on. The rain may help drown out the brainless neighbor’s dog left home by itself cries and barking all through the night. Last night was ready to strangle the beast. Tonight no telling.

Hahahahaha. Love your sentiment Rs. Actually after doing my run and getting back about 5:30, I saw the wife at the house and went and had a talk with her telling her her dog last night was out of control 1am - past 4-5am non stop yelping crying because they left it alone and it always does this. She said it only barks at vehicles, and I said that is incorrect as this is every time you and your husband and kid go out. Anyway she said son is in hospital and I said you cannot leave the dog alone as it is extremely noisy. Low and behold she said sorry and and 20 minutes after the dog was right at again as we were eating dinner. I went and looked and recorded it, but she was gone and the gate locked again. Have had many noise issues with them before. Her husband never shuts up and cooks outside clanging thing wildly starting 4:30 - 5am and she is a teacher. Luckily they are across the street and not next or behind us. Thank god. Terrible enough already. Their son is about 6. On another level I hope the kid is ok and ends up more smart than his naive mom and dad.

A Thai person said sorry?

Hope you got some photo evidence of this 😆

We lucky that neighbors aren't noisy they were just a bit inconsiderate with blocking the street but they stopped

But that is why I will build a house here as far away as the other houses here.......   :)

Well the pigs aren’t flying yet. It was a superficial sorry. My wife just told me after my  visit she got another visit by one of her back side old man Thai neighbor. I’m sure it was about the same noise thing. He only talks to them when he has an issue. She now cannot call me Pinocchio or farang trouble maker.

Wise decision. I am always looking for a piece of land in CM to build a house enough away from the inconsiderates. Inevitably always a couple or few in the big barrel.

I have my own rule...........

We have to be a 10min drive from my wife's family area

There is a gorgeous 18 rai plot right next to her aunt for a good price and I love her Aunt

But I wouldn't live right next to my own family and not living right next to hers

Their drama then becomes our drama..............

A 10min drive in village is plenty far away

Her other evil aunt had a 4mil baht house for sale we could have paid 2mil for

I refused to.............the evil Aunt would have always thought of it as her house still

Perhaps the dog is hungry, thirsty and lonely. You could always check on the poor thing and then talk to the neighbor about responsible behavior.

To add in it, it isn’t everyday, but talk about needing to keep a handle on it is the truth. Not everyone but there are or is always a someone.

We did the village thing originally and decided it wasn't for us for precisely those reasons. Too close to family.

Then moved to another location 600km away. Much better.

Mum's dead now so no inclination to go back to the village anyway.

Responsible behaviour.... That's too funny.

Dog has separation anxiety. My 2 dogs were howling, barking annoyances when left home alone at night. Well behaved hounds when anyone was home.

Naw. Typical behavior of this dog when they go away for a few hours. Incessant moaning. Lonely is maybe as it has no space as a yard and no doggie companion. Never gets to run or get out. Sort of cruel. But good it doesn’t fry out.
One morning quite several months ago around 6 AM as my wife is leaving to go to work, our gates were open and our dogs just hang around the gates ( we have well behaved dogs), the man who bangs and cooks outside owner left his gate open and it ran out and attacked both my dogs.. so they ended up paying for a hospital bill for the scratches in one bite of my dog. Otherwise we would’ve brought the police in . This is a male dog and it’s a piece of work. But not so far from the apple falling from the tree, same as of their owners..

Granted, I did look in the morning today to see if it had a little bit of water, and that was not the case. We’re just talking about ignorant Thai owners who should not have a pet dog.

Well, that’s probably exactly correct, but I wouldn’t exactly say a well behaved dog, but when they go out it does act up and it creates a huge intolerable noise ruckus. But as I told her at 5:30 tonight, she just kinda tried to refute it, and said it was the dog only barks at bikes and automobiles.. so I said no you are wrong, when you’re not around you don’t hear it and it’s not every single time you go away like in the daytime, but last night was especially last overboard and this is quite common.
So now another neighbor I think just told her after me and so they, her and her pea brained husband can’t deny it. I think the dog just needs another dog friend or they need to find a better home.
Update- Actually, the thing just started howling and crying right now just this minute. Gonna be one of them nights again..

I did the opposite, waited quite a while until I actually wanted to spend a decent amount of time in village(20 years)

Now I look forward to it

And wouldn't be full time.........6-7 months in village. 2-3 months back in Boston and 2 one month long stays down at the beaches in Thailand. Along with a decent amount of long weekend(4-5 days) in BKK

Not really concerned about drama because my wife's family has very little, in comparison

And she knows I just don't deal in drama, at all........not with my family or anyone else

Plus, they are mostly afraid of farang houses in the village...........they are usually left alone and the Thais usually hang out in the smaller Thai relative's houses

My wife's aunt is the hub of their family's activity as well as my wife's best friend

Our house MAY seem family over for special occasions............

Well no rain in CM for where I am just out of the city, and with this there was no covering up that dogs incessant extremely loud howls and moaning that actually it some how doubled the volume for a second full day and night till early mroning 5 or 5:30 am. I think I need to stop reading these articles that rain is coming in because 95% of the time it doesn't ad I am dissapointed. These people when they come back to feed their dog late afternoon are going to get an earful from me today. No more Mr. Nice guy!

Understandable but that won’t help anyone. We got a house/dog sitter for when we went out and problem solved. I toyed with the idea of a mild sedative powdered into snacks to calm our hounds but the missus looked at me as if I had suggested we BBQ them. Cheaper than a good nights sleep .…

Yes, but part of my blasting them will be, understand you love and care for your boy who is in hospital, but your dog is killing us and this is inexcusable, and honestly speaking you both do not need to sleep in the hospital room with your son. One of you needs to stay home with the dog or get that dog the h*ll out of here while you still have one. I am at my end with them at this point.

Thanks for pointing out the reason the reason is called Separation Anxiety. I knew it was from this but did not know what to call it. This dog is not small or moderate but is at an extreme level. If my animals have it then I take counter measures like you so it does not effect my neighbors.

Is there any point? They probably won't adjust their behaviour.
