'Allegedly, they demand protection fees from foreigners running businesses in these areas. In some cases, the risk escalates to abduction or murder of foreigners for monetary gains'

Now I get it - can't have anyone else demanding monthly 'fees' can we?

Just wondering. Is it "Austrian" or " Australian" or both? First part of the article indicates "Austrian" where as the second part brings in "Australian". Is it the leader is Austrian and the one running the show is Australian?

These hip gangster wannabes are a pox on society. The several Australian state governments introduced anti bikie laws back in 2015. The crackdown on these vermin has meant the have had to cast their net further afield to continue on their criminal behaviour. Places like Thailand, which applies the law arbitrarily are magnets for this scum. The sooner the Thai government address this issue, the better.

Law enforcement in Australia has, for many years, been trying combat Chinese triad gangs operating in Australia who run extortion rackets directed towards Chinese expats.
