Recently, police arrested a man for allegedly using Facebook to sell a police badge and a certificate for being a member of the commando police. Reportedly, both the badge and certificate were being sold for 7,000 baht. 35 year old  Natchathorn Dechakunaporn was arrested in the central Thai province of Samut Sakhon after he allegedly posted on Facebook through the guise of the “Thai Development Institute” and the “Sayamkunakorn Company”. Expensive but an enterprising fellow could treble the buying price in days using a police badge. The least the badge would bring would be free drinks in a Thai bar.

And what discounts would a bar lady give to a handsum undercover cop. The opportunities possession of a Thai police would provide are endless.

There were shops on a street known as thieves row near Khao San road where all sorts of government badges were for sale.

I bought three and pinned them to the side of my straw hat.

I received some very strange looks from Thais when I wore the hat. There were police uniforms but no badges. However all sorts of Thai medals were for sale. 

I bought a pair Thai army cloth and leather boots. They fell to bits very quickly. 

I was going to buy a Kill Em All let God Sort Em Out, T shirts, but it was polyester and would have been too hot to wear in the Thailand climate.

Beats me why anybody would want to buy plastic shite badges representative of a state sponsored mafia organisation in the first place.

I keep seeing Youtube videos of fake cops in the US riding around in fake police cars stopping people on the road. Why there seems no motive. They are usually caught when they stop a real cop in plain clothes.
