At least 2,700 Covid-19 patients in Bangkok waiting to be admitted

The director of Bangkok’s Erawan Centre says there are at least 2,700 Covid-19 patients waiting to be sent to pre-admission centres. According to Pornthep Saeheng, the centre’s main role is to have all patients, whether seriously ill, asymptomatic, or experiencing mild symptoms, sent to 25 pre-admission centres across the capital. There’s a hospitel down the road where I live. It’s empty. It’s always been empty. As to why they can’t send in patients there is jarring. 

Maybe not equipped in their set up to take them, and maybe they are keeping a hospital free of CV-19 so that normal other medical issues can move forward. There is a lot more needed to do at hospitals for the people than that of just treating CV-19.
