The navy needs new toys! That is all these will be; following a visit by an Australian submarine many years ago, the RTN started clamouring for their own sub-sea assets. They were briefed on this by foreign powers at the time that there was no viable use for submarines as the seas surrounding Thailand are too shallow. 

Never try and talk sense to a Thai with a fistful of money - they just have to have the same toys as everyone else!

And meanwhile the Thai commoner's personal debt surges while these hi-so powder cakes think that all the funding is theirs to do with what they want to. But this is every country not just them. Wonder where MFP stands on this issue? But then again as much as I really like MFP, I think that congregation at Central World yesterday was a bit off and resembled a red shirt gathering. Maybe not the smartest thing to do.
