The timing couldn’t be worse, with 2026 World Cup qualifiers getting underway later in the year. With extra slots for Asia (up to 9), Thailand might have had a shot at making it. Doesn’t look good now though.

This instruction was reportedly given in response to a physical altercationbetween football players and coaches from Thailand and Malaysia during the recent Southeast Asian Games (SEA Games) held in Cambodia.

A moot point, but it was actually Indonesia (not Malaysia). Result is the same though. Getting into a melee like that is plain stupid. 

The Thais have made their own mess here.
