Good job. Now can the authorities go after the premises owner and pull him to court for letting his premises to operate under illegal situations by employing minor? If only the authorities can pull the premises owners for simply letting for such activities their premises without properly checking and documenting it legally in the tenancy agreement, such incidences can be reduced or totally prevented.

No. The owner of the premises is not responsible for illegal actions committed by tenants. Adding a legal requirement for the premise owner to ensure the legality of any business conducted on the rented premises opens a huge can of worms and turns premise owners into pseudo cops with liabilities for any illegal activities = not gonna happen.

Well done. Karaoke bars have always been a front for prostitution and not just in Thailand. Whilst singing, eating and drinking and enjoying female company was definitely the main theme when we went as a group of men, there were always offers of further or other services if required, so exploitation of underage girle is a sad outcome in some instances. Best they regulate these places far more tightly or close them down and massage shops aren't much better.

It is the law in Malaysia.....owners of premises can be prosecuted and penalize .....

When you live in the conditions some of these girls do, and I mean not just coming from poor backgrounds, but abusive ones as well, this is sometimes the only escape for them. Read a book called " Private Dancer ". It explains a lot of why so many girls end up in these bars and why some have no choice. They will always be exploited by ruthless bar managers eager to make money off their misery. A sad but brutal thruth for many girls across Asia. So you western girls shouldn't complain to much about how hard your life is. Spare a thought for these girls and their situations.

BUT it is probably owned by a local Hi So or the cops or local Mayor or Governer who will throw a no name under the bus instead of you know who.
