Over the next decade, TINT intends to construct Thailand’s first in-house device, positioning the country as a hub for fusion technology development, according to Anucha Burapachaisri.

There's huge uncertainty about when fusion power will be ready for commercialisation. One estimate suggests maybe 20 years. Then fusion would need to scale up, which would mean a delay of perhaps another few decades.

Author Mitch Connor has broken the golden rule of journalism: check your facts. Current tokamaks are operating at hundreds of millions of degrees in order to achieve fusion (which so far has been achieved for mere seconds). Thailand's tokamak reaches 100,000 degrees with a potential of a million degrees, according to the story. So, either China is teasing Thailand, or someone's got their facts wrong.
