sex pests are everywhere not just in Farang towns. If I was her husband I would be wanting a chat with this bloke sometime soon .

I am not condoning for one minute what this guy has done and I believe that he should be punished by the law for it to maybe discourage him from committing an even worse sexual assault next time however it reads to me in this story that the victim then demanded 50,000THB not to go to the police, in most countries that would be considered blackmail so maybe the plod should have a little chat with her about her future conduct.

Sadly it seems in Thailand a lot of this type of crime goes unreported due to a payment being made to the victim, the problem is then though that there is a very real risk the offender will be emboldened to do the same (or more usually worse) again.

Until Thailand abandons the wei and compensation tradition for a more crime related punishment equally under the law there will be those who condone this type of behavior.
