If the vendor is right as per his claims, why did he have to give 1000 TBH to the Chinese tourists to put an end to the drama. May be it is his drama that he is trying to end by pulling down the curtain

According to the story one of the Chinese hit the vendor over the head with a set of scales yet no mention of any punishment to the tourist. Pretty sure if a 'western' tourist had hit a vendor over the head with a set of scales he/she would have been charged with assault.
