Asian countries have their own values and traditions, about such matters. Things like this, are a face of globalism, like white Christian missionaries in the 19th century

Thailand is one of the more accepting LBTGQ countries in the world, they aren't pressured by any outside forces

There is plenty of people in Thailand that would want this parade and support it

Maybe I am a born cynic but can't help wondering if having a pride march which attracts people from all over the world (well certainly the London one does) on the 4th June (mid low season) isn't more about boosting tourist revenue than anything else. Mind you I have never seen the need to march to affirm my sexuality either. I get it is it were a protest march in a country that outlawed homosexuality but not in a country that is inclusive of homosexuality.

Exactly. It's not a product of Thai LGBT history.

Just like Masks and a host of other issues

Ahh another foreigner letting the Thais know that the  foreigner knows better than they do. Lucky for the local savages they have the politically enlightened foreigners ready to defend their culture. For most Thais, the Pride event is an excuse to hold a party and it is hopefully good for business. As mentioned above, June is quiet time and needs a boost.  Most Thais couldn't care one way or another about someone's gender. They have more important things to worry about. If hundreds of thousands of Thais come out to have a bit of fun on that day, then that says something. If no one, except foreigners show up, then you can say your claim about a western statement is supported.

BTW what's your take on the growing embrace of Chinese New Year activities in the western world? Over the past few years I have seen a surge in advertising specials like  Chinese New Year Mattress sales, or dinner specials. I also see alot of different holidays embraced by different communities. Diwali is growing in popularity in many non Indian regions because it is a fun time aside from the religious theme of good over evil.

So you don't believe, or rather realise, that LGBT is an Anglosphere paradigm? That the global use of such language, is imitative?

'Old white guys'? What is gayness, young and black or something?
