Truth though is that this campus though announced 2 years ago, no progress made in the building of it. Real reason it’s scrapped is because of current Disney financial woes. Maybe some further investigation by news corporations would have highlighted this.

Florida is a joke, a parody of what millions of white, straight, pro-life Christians actually believe.

And Disney made great animations, back in the day, animated movies and shorts were still shown to children in the 80s,decades after they were made. Then went straight to video. And then CGI stuff that just looks wrong. Probably their last great movie was Prince of Egypt, IMO. Back in the 90s. And so, like Florida, it's nothing for young people to think about

I see you got the right wing talking points this morning   :)

865mil-1bil that this would cost Disney is pocket change for Disney, even in cost cutting mode

I think it's a bit of both $$$ and the enviroment in FL

But to disregard the Gov going after the biggest employer in the state as not relevant in the matter is just not being an honest broker

Really?  Are you aware that Disney revenues for the quarter and six months grew 13% and 10%, respectively?  Diluted earnings per share (EPS) from continuing operations for the quarter increased to $0.69 from $0.26 in the prior-year quarter. The company has bounced back from Covid. it's  2022 Gross Profit was $6.2 billion  Seriously, if this was a poorly performing company, then the the entire US   corporate world is financially bankrupt.  Some people say Disney isn't performing well because it trimmed some  paid subscribers. That occurred because the company increased fees and is making more money today than last year. It has approx. 158 million paid subscribers, down from 162 million. Big deal. It's shed its cheap international customers in favour of keeping its core profit maker Disney+ subscribers and its average revenue per user increased by almost 12%.

What we have here is DeSantis trying to bully people who are smarter, tougher and better educated. The Men of the Mouse are pure capitalist and know how to make a profit.  They knew they couldn't relocate some of their best and brightest to a state that has ignorant buffoons bullying school librarians. DeSantis thought he could intimidate, but he blew it. He needs Disney. Disney doesn't need him.  The physical assets have been maxed out for  depreciation writeoffs and are reaching their respective obsolete dates, such that at some point, Disney will eventually have to start replacing  physical plant. Florida is one of those states more at risk to weather and large investors are doing their cost-benefit analysis again. DeSantis attacking Disney doesn't help the Florida case.

I have to give credit to Trump for calling this one right.  He predicted the outcome and warned Florida Republicans.

You do know this is right wing 101

Once they go after a company it is "in financial dire straits" and all the right wing talking points

They know nothing else but to parrot what they are told on Fox News

Fox News is not owned by Disney

That is a stand-alone entity Fox Corp

Disney basically bought all their entertainment and not News/Sports
