What should have been happy news was marred by the problem of finances; the wife was unemployed and had no income, relying on her husband’s monthly salary of US$5,000, equivalent to approximately 25,000 baht.

Which exchange rate did the author of the article refers to. I just checked in XE currency exchange and I get 169,029.85 Thai Baht as the answer.

This report only covers a small part of what`s going on between this couple.

It`s only assuming it`s about financial problems when in-fact the story behind this report could be about anything, including perhaps the husband had discovered his wife had cheated or been in an affair and the baby may not be his.

Knowing how so much has changed today regarding the attitudes of modern women, this could be more likely the case.

“What kind of marriage is this? Isn’t it better to be single? Are you stupid?”

Okay, it's just a photo but somehow they got a 15-word quote from it?

Quote

It is unclear if he was scolding his wife or himself...

Wait - you couldn't validate this but you could validate the last four paragraphs, which contain highly specific and personal details about the couple?  How were all of these details obtained?  Was this lifted from a Chinese newspaper?  Journalists are supposed to cite their sources. The word 'alleged' isn't used even once, meaning we're supposed to take these as statements of fact without knowing their source.

That's why this whole article reads like realistic fiction.

The writer meant "monthly salary of 5,000 yuan".

They screwed up. It was supposed to be 5000 yuan, not dollars....

Living singly - not getting married and having children? That's a bonus for the rest of the world. Maybe the billionaires attempting the great reset can jump on their planes and start promoting that tenet throughout all of China thereby lowering their population even more than the 'one family one child' move by their caring CCP.
