No, he didn't "unexpectedly leave" FOX "News"; his ass was fired.

Tucker Carlson is a lying twat who spewed a steady diet of racism, conspiracy theory and all-around crap to many people daily, causing genuine harm to US Democracy. Moreover, he and his FOX "News" colleagues led good people down ugly paths of white supremacy (the great replacement theory), hatred of immigrates ( "Dirty people"), Bat-Shit QAnon stuff and more.

Good Bye and Good Riddance.

FOX "News" chose to pay almost 800 MILLION dollars rather than answer questions under oath because they knew that they were lying about Dominion. However, in my experience, no one ever just lies about one small aspect of an issue; liars lie about everything.

So, FOX "News" viewers in the US, around the world, and on this Forum (you know who you are); what are you going to do now? Are you going to admit, painful and embarrassing as that is, that you have been lied to repeatedly? Or, are you going to lower your eyes and just accept the next round of lies that surely will come your way?

It is decision time.

There is nothing wrong with holding Right/Center-Right political views; I am a 'small government, low tax' guy myself. There is something very, very wrong in allowing yourself to be taken down a path of extremism, lies and hate.

What's it going to be?

do you have any examples of these outlandish claims?

The last person who spoke a shred of truth has been removed for Corporate media.  I am not a fan of Fox but did like Carlson who dared to speak out against big phrama, the bureaucratic state, and other powers that shouldn't be.  Now it will be more talking heads that simply read a teleprompter controlled by special interest.

Does nobody wonder why Lockheed Martin advertises on Fox?  How many viewers are buying missiles?  I am sure it has nothing to do with all the warmongers that populate their airwaves.  Yet the one guy who apposed the wars and had the highest ratings of any cable new show ever for doing so, is the one that is shown the door.

🤣 there's literally hundreds upon hundreds of examples of his racism, and idiotic conspiracy theories peddling that he believed his audience (for which he had the utmost contempt, sorry that includes you) wants to hear.

oOoOoh.

Their own line of defense against attempts to hold them accountable was to say the show was meant for entertainment and not to be taken as serious journalism. What do you make of that?

Apparently he signed off by saying, "see you on Monday", I suspect he knew he was done and enjoyed lying one ultimate time to his audience of suckers.

Anyway, please don't worry too much. He will do his own podcast and it will certainly be even worse garbage, you'll love it.

His own network and lawyers and HIMSELF! claim he isn't doing journalism

Yet you call "journalism dead"

Instead, Fox News lawyers claim, Carlson is not “stating actual facts” but simply engaging in “non-literal commentary.”

From Vyskocil’s opinion:

[In] the context of “Tucker Carlson Tonight,” the Court finds that Mr. Carlson’s invocation of “extortion” against Ms. McDougal is nonactionable hyperbole, intended to frame the debate in the guest commentator segment that followed Mr. Carlson’s soliloquy. As Defendant notes, Mr. Carlson himself aims to “challenge political correctness and media bias.” This “general tenor” of the show should then inform a viewer that he is not “stating actual facts” about the topics he discusses and is instead engaging in “exaggeration” and “non-literal commentary.” … Given Mr. Carlson’s reputation, any reasonable viewer ‘arrive[s] with an appropriate amount of skepticism’

Not that Tucker himself admitting to not stating facts will change your opinion anyways

You want to be lied to.............

It makes you feel better about your views................

Then simply point to a specific one.  Everyone keeps making this claim but nobody is using an actual quote or video of him saying something racist.   I dont want to hear about the "hundreds" of examples, i will settle for a single specific one

ok, so im about halfway through this article and only 1 actual claim which says that "Roy Epss is a Trump supporter" which is hilarious.  Mostly this is just lots of pointing towards his critics about how bad he is.  The

@FazDid you read this or just google "claims" and post the first link that came up?

CNN and MSNBC have used the same defense for their shows.  Its an end run on lawsuits so that they are not caught up in court every day.  Just because someone sues you doesnt mean that the claim is valid, many lawsuits are brought to tie up time and money.

I just watched the first two youtube videos and nothing said in their is racist.  Instead of sending a list of what others say, give me a specific example of him being racist instead of me needing to watch 5 hours of youtube videos trying to find an example on your behalf.  If he says something racists i promise i will call it racist.  But im highly confident you have never watched any of his show and are simply repeating what you have heard others accuse him of.

In a text on November 9, Carlson referenced Powell’s Dominion claims, commenting, “The software shit is absurd.” (Carlson then said on television that night, “We don’t know anything about the software that many say was rigged. We don’t know. We ought to find out.”)

I could go all day...........(but I am sure you will just deny these facts/evidence of refuting his lies)

But his lies aren't what makes him dangerous

It's "asking questions" to purposedley stoke fears into his idiotic audience

Appreciate (genuinely)  you giving an actual example to speak to.  Politifact has no credibility as they are blatantly biased.  But, to the ones you are citing:

There was voter fraud in Georgia, "2000 mules" shows the videos of this happening

The "Shaman" was escorted through the capital, after the videos given to Tucker were made public they had little choice but to release him from prison.

The third link is just nonsense.  The fact they call it an "insurrection" is all you need to know.  Does anyone really think people were going to "overthrow" the government by staging a protest?

I wont hold my breath on an actual example of anything "racist."  I do find it funny people still use "conspiracy theories", this was a term created by the CIA to discredit anyone saying the CIA had involvement in the JFK assignation.  Recent documents declassified by the government show that CIA played a part in the assignation.  So that term simply refers to someone who is right prior to corporate media acknowledging such.

2000 Mules??

Holy shit it's like conversing with aliens

You people aren't serious adults

You just aren't.....

No use debating with someone who doesn't live in reality

Ah snap I'm late to the party. I knew it would come to this and I knew you'd be like "what's racist about that????". When I point out, let's say, his take on the people of Iraq. ("semi literate primitive monkeys") but hey, "nothing wrong with that" I bet.

I notice you're not asking for an example from his torrent of lies, is it safe to consider this part resolved then?

Easier is not the appropriate word. I would say "10 times more worth one's time"

yet here we are 😄, I guess it's the fascination just with how far they're ready to push themselves into delusion/dishonesty/shamelessness.

And that's what it is, delusional

Then you get accused of "not listening to other people's points"

When their points are so far from factually

How do you give that person a serious response?

You can't

2000 Mules was literally recalled and lies had to be taken out of it

It's been debunked by so many sources

Fox literally just paid 800mil dollars

800 million dollars so more of their lies wouldn't be made public

Yet he talks about "integrity "

It's simply crazy

I personally don’t watch any of these cable news peeps, as they all seem to report stories on extreme slants right or left as echo chambers and divide the US more each day on any topic most likely because there is big money to be made.  Reuters news usually reports news with a neutral bias with neither left or right slant and just the news without added bs.  They debunked the 2000 mules documentary here.  https://www.reuters.com/article/factcheck-usa-mules-idUSL2N2XJ0OQ

I figured there would be comments about Fox & Tucker, but crickets on the other extreme cable news firing of Don Lemon.  Nice to see these dinosaur networks cleaning house in which one could hope to just reporting news without any slant (don’t hold your breath), but that would be boring and a poor money losing business model. In the big picture they are just driving the extremists to independent podcasting, YouTube, Rumble (can someone hear the echo chamber) and other formats that are slowly putting the cable news networks into extinction.

As we can see here on this thread, no one cares about what others think and are unwilling to hear other points of view so the same argument over & over.

Maybe because Don Lemon has always been inconsequential? Also Fox/Newsmax/OAN viewers need to stop assuming that everybody who's ever so slightly "cOgNiTiVelY tHeRe" has to be getting brainwashed from the other side.

As we can see here on this thread, one dude is in complete denial of reality when others have patiently given him the hard facts he was demanding.

Fixed that last part for you.

Dan Bongino has also left Fox, with his contract not being renewed. Unlike Tucker Carlson, he was given the option of a farewell show, which he declined.

https://www.usatoday.com/story/entertainment/tv/2023/04/21/dan-bongino-leaving-fox-news-after-failed-contract-negotiations/11711484002/

I do watch Fox, but not Tucker Carlson because of his pro-Russia cr*p.  (Not all Fox viewers are imbeciles, as many claim). Good riddance. Bongino on the other hand, was decent and watchable.

That would be part of it, yes. Trump called him “the dumbest man on TV”. A stretch perhaps, but not far off.

https://www.foxnews.com/politics/trump-cheers-cnn-firing-don-lemon.amp

Now, what I’d really like to see is the rebirth of “Crossfire” renamed/rebranded on another network.

Carlson/Bongino vs Lemon/Cuomo

Ain’t happening but would be a good laugh.

Thanks for the post, @BigHewer. It is good to have someone come on and state that not all viewers of FOX are imbeciles; it needed to be said and I think it is true. For what it is worth, I don't really have a problem with a cable news channel having an editorial point of view; I have long felt that those who demand 'Total Objectivity' are Total Morons. And, again for what it is worth, I think some shows on MSNBC or CNN are ridiculous nonsense as well; extremists, on either side, are idiots in my eyes. However, to say that FOX "News" and the others are merely different sides of the same coin is, I also believe, false.

Simply put, while I have certainly seen shows on MSNBC or CNN that I thought were wrong and/or misguided, I can't recall any that I thought were intellectually dishonest; I cannot say the same about FOX "News". What I would see on FOX "News", if I may use you as an example, is something like this...

"Hello, this is Tucker Carlson and tonight we are looking at @BigHewer. Looking at his profile photo on Thaiger, I see he wears a Red Baseball Hat. You know who else wears a Baseball Hat? Men who are going bald. And, we all know that men who are going bald are short and fat, don't we? I mean, I am just asking, right? And, who else wears Red? Don't the Chinese Communists wear Red? As long as we are just asking questions, didn't the Chinese Communists also practice Human Trafficking and Human Slavery? And, aren't the Chinese Communists destroyers of Tibetan culture? Is it wrong to ask this?

Wouldn't it be wrong NOT to ask this?

At the end of the day, isn't is fair to ask if Big Hewer is a balding short fat man who loves baby-killing Commies, wants to see entire cultures wiped out and supports Human Slavery?

I mean, I am just asking, right? Shouldn't those questions be asked? If you don't ask them, aren't you being dishonest? And, maybe a bit racist?"

Sincere apologies, Big Hewer, but I am trying to make a point. I am certain that you are tall, thin, quite hairy and handsome, well-sighted, and a pure Capitalist who appreciates Tibetan culture. And yes, my 'example' has been wildly exaggerated to make a point.

I am really disappointed in FOX 'News" and other Right/Center-Right cable news shows; I think that there are excellent arguments in favour of governmental policies that tilt rightward, and loads of evidence to back up that point. Instead, it seems like endless 'Culture War' crap which promotes nothing but nonsense, stifles serious debate, and whose function is solely to provoke division and tribalism.

That is what FOX "news" does and it should end, although I doubt it will anytime soon.

And a final point on a return of a television show like Crossfire. Please God, NO!!! Crossfire was about the partisan bickering that divides and not on policies that unite. Politics is not an end of itself, but a means to get to agreed upon government policy, and if you keep your eye only on Politics, the Rich Sneaky Billionaire Bastards will sneak even more tax cuts through, all in the name of 'Liberty'. Crossfire got canned because Jon Stewart went on and destroyed it for being superficial, ninth-rate Kabuki theater.

And, it was.

Good-bye Crossfire and Good Riddance.
