Modern warfare will be drones as cannon fodder, backed up by well trained (human) troops, ie. US Marines, British SAS etc. In the near future, likely augmented by what are basically mech suits, already being researched and trialed. Conscription plays little part in that military system. It's replaced by factories churning out drones.

May I say though, the Thai practice of conscription, refutes certain attitudes, that exist about Thai men and their masculinity. This is not a nation of crybabies or mummies boys, throwing tantrums, to the point of killing women.

Nor is Thai masculinity effeminate in the least. This is the sort of country, where little boys, most definately do go on, to 'play with' guns.
