Serrow are a part of the 'ovicaprines', the same subgroup of the antelopes, that includes domesticated sheep and goats. The mtDNA has them closer to musk ox and goals, than to domesticated relatives. The branching order of this subclade is uncertain, but you can think of serows and gorals as transitional musk oxen. They are lovely animals.
