Sad to say, Chiang Mai is losing out  on the fun and revenue this year (and Chaing Rai too). The pollution is so awful from the forest fires that nobody wants to be outdoors.  Ranging from 200 to 400 ... you cannot see far at all. Makes throat and eyes and lungs burn when outdoors even with a mask. So hard on workers who are out of doors all day long.  A lot of talk but no concrete strategies to reduce this awful smoke.  2 months and counting. Buildings and statues, shrines turning grey.
