Thailand is far behind in the space race, but they’re still in and trying to catch up. A draft Space Affairs Act intended to help Thailand get up to speed with space-related technology was approved yesterday by the Thai Cabinet. The Space Affairs Act will be sent to the Council of State and then passed to Parliament. Thailand’s first satellite was launched into space back in September of last year. It was just a small nanosatellite launched into space in an Arianespace Vega rocket carrying more than 50 other microsatellites and nanosatellites from around a dozen countries. The satellite, which […]

So if it's not submarines ..if it's not wanting to be the Hollywood capital of Asia.. there are so many wannabees...  They should get a rocket and shove it up somewhere where the sun doesn't shine anymore..

rumoured to be Sky box ..

Really wouldn't it not be better to get busy with the pandemic engulfing the country than continue to clarion call billy bigball's ideas of shooting for the stars ..

You would have to be an usually brave astronaut to trust your life to the competence of a government that, 18 months into a global pandemic, still hadn't bothered to order any of the good vaccines.

I’d think getting reopened and the economy back on track would take precedence over going to space but perhaps my priorities are misaligned.

What a laugh, a country where they can hardly make a decent pavement, earth and electrical installation or apply any basic health and safety regs wanting to go into space. It would be like putting Homer Simpson in charge of a nuclear power plant.

I heard that Thailand was going to send up a rocket to orbit the sun and to reduce cost by having no heat shield they're going at night.

Can you just imagine Thai Immigration handling real aliens? You think the line at immigration is bad now.

Let me guess, they will get China to help them.

Exactly. Chinese technology, paid for in baht or an IOU the Chinese can cash in for cash or political support whenever they want. Stick a Thai flag on it (doesn’t matter which way around it is!) and Thailand becomes a space power

Well if the Good general want's to take the first flight I might be good for 100 baht in any crowd funder - add Prawit and I'll make it 500 !

Don't even have to second guess how far their head is up their Master's rear end. I bet the Chinese will invite one of them to their new space station to kick things off. If it was the top 3-4 bozos with a one way ticket, now that wouldn't be such a bad thing now.

By the way there was nothing Thai at all. It was esa and a dutch company who made the satelite and also the operating. No Thaitechnology or anything in operating. So and now they wanna catch up?! Now they are going to be absolutly mad/ pibah

Thing is they won't be able to open any restaurants up there as there will be no atmosphere ..

They should stick to putting an animal in space like a cow jumping over the moon frr'instance ..
