Air Asia used to be an OK airline but the fact that they gave no refunds & almost zero customer service during ConVid lost me as a customer. The prices they now offer Melb - KL are overpriced when you addon luggage etc.....they aren't any cheaper than Malaysian...but to be honest lots of airlines have lost the plot and are more like dot.com airlines than full service post ConVid.....😷

Clueless idiots. Much of the increase in cost reflects the increased costs of fuel, and equipment.  Air travel is a major contributor to the carbon footprint and  the emphasis should be on the reduction of short flights, replaced instead by quality ground transportation. Where's that new high speed train from Bangkok to Surat Thani? Finn Air is eliminating  wo of its short hauls in favour of buses. Amsterdam airport will cut 10% of its flights to reduce its carbon footprint. And along comes Thailand with a desire to increase  more air travel in a system that can't  properly manage what it has now.

There is an ongoing shortage of  quality  aircrews and ground staff. Pay peanuts and the quality crews will go elsewhere.  We will have the 1,2 Go type of airline.  If the government is serious, then address the ridiculous  monopoly of Bangkok Airlines  and its price gouging for Samui. Remove the extra taxes imposed on general flights.
