None of these bars are "secrets" or hidden. All very easy to locate and imbibe at.

Also, per Merriam-Webster: speakeasy - a place where alcoholic beverages are illegally sold.

So the mom and pop shops selling booze on Makha Bucha Day are much more "speakeasies" than the outrageously expensive BARS mentioned in this piece.
