An airbrake system failure, USUALLY, stops the bus as fast as possible: No air , pressure in the system, the brakes get engaged. I hope the police checks on the "failure", I would look onto discs and pads, for instance. Because maintenance cost money: "this one tour we still can do, or the next one, or, ....."!
